Week 3 as i see it

Powell Valley vs Breathitt County -I know nothing about Breathitt County LOL so in blind LPD loyalty I am taking PV by less than 14

Gate City vs Pound - Pound is hurting on the LOS and if GC does not mess around this game will be over before halftime - GC by more than 28

JJ Kelly vs Burton - Burton is on fire and has WAY to much speed for most teams to handle JJKelly is a trap game for them though in that Kelly MAY be able to hang onto the ball enough to keep the jet sweep in check but I think Burton is still to much for an improved Kelly team - Burton by more than 14

Rye Cove vs Coeburn -Next year this one will be for the CD title this year it is a mesuring stick for both teams IMHO Coeburn takes this one with ease - Coburn by more than 14

Clintwood vs Appalachia - I watched the Appy/Norton Game on cable last night and IMHO Appys demise is being overblown Appy played Tough D but could not contain the raiders speed on the corners (Not many teams in our area can) Appy looked as hard nosed as ever on O and would have put up a couple of TDs if the receivers could have held onto the ball on that wet night from what I am hearing Jessie will be ready to go this Friday and that is another weapon for the dogs coming into this game......Even thought Appy should probably be the Fav here I am going with the home team in an upset - Clintwood by less than 7

    ------Other Game of intrest--------

Ervinton vs StPaul - Ervinton takes another step toward a possible District Championship against there former coach - Ervinton by less than 14

I would have picked PV to beat Breathitt before going down to Seymour and getting stomped but now I have to go with Breathitt by a TD.

GC will handle Pound by at least 4 tds.

I think Burton has another easy win by about 35 over Kelly.

I don't think its a lock that these two teams will play for the CD title next year. St. Paul has a couple of young kids coming up and it seems Castlewood is sneaking into the mix ever so slowly as a half way consistent threat in the district. I'll take Coeburn by a TD in this one.

I too saw Appy on tv last night and the game was much much closer than the actual score. Appy is no power house but they aren't that bad either. But no way and I mean no way are they a favorite at Clintwood...nice try though, lol. Clintwood wins this one by 2 td's.

Re: Week 3 as i see it

I predict PV to win 21 to 20 over Breathitt. I have heard that Seymour is just awesome. They brought PV back down to earth. PV I am sure is working a lot on what cost them last week. They will also want the terrible taste out of their mouths. Hopefully this will be the last time PV plays either of these teams. It would be nice to see PV play Richlands again and I'd like to see PV play another SWD team such as Tazewell.

I really honestly get the feeling that Kelly could upset Burton or give them some trouble. They didn't just give up against PV in 99 when PV was predicted what was it 99 to 0 over them? If Burton proves me way wrong then my mistake. But I don't think they're gonna cruise to a victory over them. I don't have it out for Burton as it seems from a couple of my past posts. I respect them. My prediction Kelly 7 Burton 6.

I have changed my Coeburn/Rye Cove prediction to Coeburn 28, Rye Cove 16. Coeburn is improving. Doing better than most would figure.

Haysi 29, Open 7, open date is terrible.

Ervinton 28, St. Paul 20, from the things I have heard this isn't the Ervinton team that we have heard about in the past years.

Clintwood 28, Appy 12, come on Dawgs prove me wrong.
Deja Moo: The feeling that you've heard this bull before.

Awesome may have been the wrong word to use. They are awesome by no means to any team there own size, but take a small school such as Powell Valley that has well less than half the Students of Seymoure, they are a very tough competition!

So you are saying that when the Raiders won 47-0 it was much closer than the score indicated? What game were you watching?

Re: Week 3 as i see it

The level of domination by burton on the field was not congruent with the level of domination on the scoreboard. I guess I should have made myself more clear, my bad.
